Change the Narrative

I will not take the bait and discuss whether kneeling during the performance of the national anthem is an appropriate form of protest. That is not the issue. We are still talking about the government execution of American citizens based on skin color. That is the issue. The ability of the media to control and misdirect the narrative is almost as obscene as the public’s inability to stay focused on the fact that government employees paid with taxpayer monies murdered American citizens without justifiable cause and suffered no real consequences. It’s not enough to just kneel or march. At some point, we must stop feeding the beast. Not only does that mean withholding our financial support of oppressive systems and institutions; it also means being deliberate and intentional about the things we give time, attention and energy. That requires us to stay focused on the real issues and things that matter….
