Can We Be On The Same Page?

“Can we be on the same page for once?” Nhandi yelled, utterly frustrated with them. For hours, they sat around the table, arguing back and forth. On paper, each board member appeared to be polished and professional. Behinds closed doors, they were a bunch of classless ego driven opportunists. Manny Kendrick was the worst. Despite the obvious conflict, he continued to push for the sale of the university’s most valuable assets to his wife’s family’s trust. President Bordeaux only enforced the bylaws and called for Kendrick to abstain from the vote because he too stood to personally benefit from the transaction. Nhandi presented the consultant’s plan that allowed the school to keep its sought-after property and pay down its debt. She couldn’t understand why its trusted custodians were opting for a short-term solution that left the school financially weakened. Nhandi clearly didn’t understand greed.
