Radical Intervention

Ashanti recognized the genuine concern Monet and Tia had for her. As they pleaded with her to “talk to someone” she calmed the part of her that wanted to maliciously point out how foolish and blind they were. She held her tongue. Her own parents thought her actions and rhetoric were too “radical.” She continued to listen and when she had an opportunity to respond, she spoke the truth as she knew it. “I can’t plead ignorance knowing what I know," she said unequivocally. "I can’t ignore what I see with my own eyes and what my intuition tells me. I am awake and aware and I will act accordingly. You watch the throne and I’ll watch the sky.” Monet stared at her blankly. Tia thought she’d completely lost her mind. However, the serene expression on her face revealed an unshakeable confidence in her position.
