The Bench
Unlike most, Anderson never resented his status in life, instead he used it to his advantage. When the Pritchards invited their friends and colleagues out to their ranch, Anderson navigated the parties unnoticed, soaking up the conversations of the moneyed class. In these social settings that excluded him as a member, he, as a servant, passed through gathering the names of important people, learning their faces, remembering their likes and dislikes. He was also privy to the usual insider gossip that was later used as ammunition to seat or unseat some elected officials. This was learning ground for him and he was a sponge. These humble beginnings provided the foundation for the powerful political insider he was to become. From the day, he left Karnes County he was determined to make a name for himself and influence the world. Today he was trying to influence the direction of the U.S. Supreme Court.
