Binded by Humanity
We do not lack compassion. No one has more empathy, sympathy, and compassion than we do. We have an extraordinary capacity to forgive the most savage and brutal treatment. Human decency is so deeply engrained in us that we continually forgive our blood enemies. Our humanity is unquestioned but still we are asked to prove ourselves by coming to the defense of people who have consistently exploited us here and abroad. Who have taken and never given. And who have been grossly silent in the face of our oppression. We do not have the energy to cape for anyone else and fight for our own liberation at the same time. At some point we have to choose us over everyone else; time to focus all of our energy on getting free.
